As polarizing as this topic is, and as passionate as people are on both sides, it’s important to maintain a high
level of sensitivity. The goal of the Christian is to speak the truth in love, and to not condemn or shame. As a
Christian I’m commanded to love people, not change them. Change is the Holy Spirit’s job. Many people have
chosen abortions only to later feel shame and guilt from Satan. This is how Satan operates; he tempts you to
do something and then shames you for doing it. Sadly, the church has made people feel terrible for choosing
abortion by shaming and disassociating with them. Making someone feel terrible about a choice doesn’t have
the desired effect of winning them to repentance or toward stronger faith. Therefore, the Bible says in
Romans 2:4, that the kindness of God leads us to repentance. The goal here is to educate and affirm
everyone’s worth.
False Dichotomy and Strawman Arguments
The world presents the abortion debate through what is called a false dichotomy. A false dichotomy is when a
falsehood is created by presenting two options as being opposed, when they aren’t necessarily opposed. This
scheme is often used to try to persuade people into believing something that isn’t true. For example, when
people debated how Covid should be handled, the media tried to persuade people by pitting two ideas against
each other, Freedom vs. Safety. The idea is to falsely present choices as though you can only have one and
not the other at the same time.
With regards to abortion, one false dichotomy is Life vs. Rights. Placing these terms against each other
attempts to get you to believe that if you chose life, that you’re against having rights, as though they can’t be
experienced at the same time. Terms like “pro-choice” or “reproductive rights” are meant to suggest that if
you’re not in agreement with these terms then you think people should be oppressed and unable to make
decisions for themselves. What is happening here is redirecting the argument away from the morality of the
abortion. This tactic is called a strawman argument. A strawman argument deceives you into thinking that
the argument has been refuted, whereas the real subject of the argument was not addressed or refuted at all.
Terms to Know
“Fetus”, “Clump of cells” – People who are for abortion will often suggest that an unborn child is not a human,
but is a fetus. They say this believing that a fetus is not a human being, but scientifically, they are incorrect.
The word “fetus” is commonly used in the field of obstetrics and refers to the developmental stage of a human
between the embryonic stage and birth. So, a fetus is merely a phase of life for the human being, such as
embryo, infant, toddler, teenager, etc. Every human is a fetus at one point. The term “fetus” is derived from
the Latin word “fētus” or “fētūs,” which means “offspring”
. In other words, calling an unborn person a fetus
doesn’t negate that that fetus is a person. A person’s phase of life doesn’t determine that person’s essence as
a human being. The same logic is used to quickly defeat the “clump of cells” argument that abortionists will
use. Every human being, regardless of age, is a clump of cells.
“Embryo”, “Conception” – Science confirms that life begins at conception: when a sperm fertilizes an egg.
Scientists have consensus that when a human male sperm successfully fertilizes a human female egg in vitro
(in an artificial environment, outside a living organism) that a new human life has begun. Scientists call this a
human embryo, and it’s a scientific fact that a single cell embryo is a unique viable (successful, capable of
developing) living human life with its own distinct DNA. Any doctor that denies that a human embryo is not a
new and unique human life, is not speaking as a doctor, but is speaking as an activist. Science determines
when life begins, religion determines if life has worth.
“Phases of Life” – At the creation of a human embryo, a unique human being comes into existence. Everything
after conception is just development. Arguing that life begins at a later date (ex: 8 weeks, 21 weeks, etc.) is
simply arbitrary and is based on worth or value, not scientific fact. Christians believe that all life from
conception to death, has intrinsic: (belonging naturally) essential value, believing that all humans are created
by God in His image. If God exists and has created human beings in His image, loves them, and has endowed
them with intrinsic moral value and inalienable (absolute, unchangeable) rights, then we have every reason to
treasure every person. So, whether an embryo is 8 seconds old, or a senior citizen is 108 years old, there is no
difference in the essence of what they are; a distinct living human being with his/her own unique DNA.
Notable Court Cases
Roe vs. Wade made abortion legal in the first trimester. The courts made up a trimester pregnancy system;
trimester: a period of about 3 months in a pregnancy. A Supreme Court case, Doe vs. Bolton, was decided on
the same day that Roe vs. Wade was handed down. Doe vs. Bolton allowed abortion in all 9 months of
pregnancy for whatever reason, so long as it can be argued that the abortion can be viewed “to preserve the
life or health of the mother.” The case defined “health” as “all factors — physical, emotional, psychological, or
familial, and the woman’s age — relevant to the well-being of the patient.” The reality is that their definition
of a woman’s health served to be so loose/vague, that just about any situation allowed for abortion. For
example, a woman in her ninth month can say, “I have mental anguish”, or “I’m stressed out”, and the
abortion is supported by this law. Therefore, the abortion can happen up to the moment of birth.
Albuquerque New Mexico is the late term abortion capital of the world that sees people fly from all over the
world to have abortions at 37 weeks. Roe vs. Wade & Doe vs. Bolton established that a woman can give any
reason to justify an abortion. On average, 2,363 children are killed daily by abortion in the U.S. Abortion is
the leading killer of black and Hispanic children in the U.S. Over 60 million documented abortions since Roe
vs. Wade, despite there being no national abortion reporting requirement. The best numbers we have are
voluntarily reported to the Alan Guttmacher Institute, named after eugenicist Alan Guttmacher the second
president of Planned Parenthood. Eugenics is the study of how to arrange reproduction in a society in order
to have the most favorable outcome. Sadly, and self-damming, is that on the Guttmacher website the data
admits that 98% of all abortions are for no reason, not the life of the mother, rape, etc. It’s simply because “I
want it”.
So, what really happened on June 24th, 2022, when the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade? Roe was
overturned due to the court case Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The results of Dobbs vs.
Jackson are as follows. First, the Constitution does not confer the right to abortion, nor did it ever. Second,
Dobbs vs. Jackson gave the people back their right to vote on abortion issues by returning it to the states.
Third, Dobbs stated that Roe was a bad precedent. Roe stripped an entire group of human beings, the
unborn, of their human rights because they were deemed as inconvenient. Abortion as a Constitutional right
was an obvious flaw, but it’s not the first time the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) has been
wrong; some other examples of SCOTUS flaws that were later corrected are…
• That descendants of slaves had no federal protection
• Upheld forced sterilization of people that had intellectual disabilities.
• Upheld internment of Japanese Americans during WW2.
• Upheld segregation laws, allowing Jim Crow laws to continue.
SCOTUS has the responsibility to correct bad rulings. The reversal of Roe didn’t take away a Constitutional
right, because no such right to an abortion ever existed. The reversal of Roe was a big step towards protection
at conception.
S.L.E.D. Method
The S.L.E.D. Method uses logic and reason to demonstrate the reality that an unborn person is just that, and
actual human being, and not some random stuff in a female’s womb. The S.L.E.D. acrostic stands for Size,
Level of Development, Environment, and Dependency.
Often, people who are for abortion will often use one of the following types of arguments in order to deny
that the unborn is actually a human being. You might hear them say, “It can’t be a human being…it’s smaller
than my fingernail.” Or, “It can’t be a human being, because it hasn’t developed into a human being yet.” Or,
“It can’t be a human being, because it’s not born yet.” Or, “It can’t be a human being because it’s totally
dependent on the mother still, not living independently.”
Using the S.L.E.D. method, you can use logic to debunk these untruths, and show that the essence of the
unborn child is still a human.
S – Size doesn’t determine essence. A toddler is small in comparison to the average adult human being, but
would we argue that a toddler isn’t a human being because of its size? Of course not.
L – Level of development doesn’t determine essence. A toddler is far from adult level development, but would
we argue that a toddler isn’t a human being due to lack of development? Of course not.
E – Environment doesn’t determine essence. A toddler indoors or outdoors is still a human being. A toddler in
Mexico or Canada is still a human being. Being in a womb, birth canal, or in a doctor’s hands doesn’t change
what something is. A baby in the womb doesn’t magically become a human after passing through the birth
canal.
D – Dependency doesn’t determine essence. A toddler abandoned without any help will die within days.
Since this is true, would we argue that a toddler therefore isn’t a human being? Of course not.
Legal Does Not Equal Moral
Legal does not equal moral. The real debate isn’t,
“Is it a human”, it’s,
“Do some humans have more value
than others?” We’ve seen this reality play out before when the Nazi’s referred to some humans as, “life
unworthy of life”. A Christian Pastor named John Piper said, “I took an abortionist out to lunch once, prepared
to give him ten reasons why the unborn are human beings. He stopped me, and said, ‘I know that. We are
killing children’.” Pastor John was stunned. Abortionists know they’re killing people. The abortionist went to
and said, “It’s simply a matter of justice for women. It would be a greater evil to deny women the equal right of
reproductive freedom.”
States treat the killing of the unborn as a homicide. As a society, we know abortion is killing humans because
38 states treat the killing of an unborn child as a form of homicide. They have what are called “fetal homicide
laws” – When the unborn are wanted, they are treated as children and patients. When they are unwanted,
they are not children. It is illegal to take the life of the unborn if the mother wants the baby, but it is legal to
take the life of the unborn if she doesn’t. In the first case the law treats the unborn as a human with rights; in
the second case the law treats the unborn as non-human with no rights. Any rational human can see the
double standard. We reject this right to define personhood in the case of Nazi eugenicide. Likewise, when we
define the humanity of the unborn by the will of the powerful we know full well what we are doing. High risk
pregnancy specialist, Dr. Steve Calvin, in a letter some years ago to the Arizona Daily Star, wrote, “There is
inescapable schizophrenia in aborting a perfectly normal 22-week unborn baby while at the same hospital,
performing intrauterine surgery on his cousin of the same age.”
Murder is the premeditated killing of an innocent human being. This is the legal and Biblical definition. The
Bible doesn’t say, “don’t kill”, it says, “don’t murder”. Killing is a part of justified war, self-defense, and
hunting. Murder is never permitted under any circumstances. So, how did abortion become acceptable? One
key reason is dismissing that a human fetus is actually a human being. Another key reason is when there’s an
appearance of two rights being in conflict and the rights of the unborn child are disregarded. There’s a
principle of justice that when two legitimate rights conflict, the right that protects the higher value should
prevail. For example, we deny the right to drive at 100 miles per hour because the value of life is greater than
the value of being on time or getting thrills. When you compare the right of the unborn not to be killed, and
the alleged “right” of a woman not to be pregnant, there’s a conflict of rights. But they are not equal rights.
The right to life is more precious and more basic than a “right” to not being pregnant.
Clever but Wrong – Examples of How Some Avoid the Moral Dilemma of Abortion
When someone is willing to objectively evaluate evidence, then he/she will know that abortion is killing an
unborn human being. However, on his famous T.V. show, Dr. Phil, when asked, “When do you think life
begins?” he said, “It doesn’t matter what I think…You can go to the scientific literature and query what the
definition is for the beginning of life, and you will find that there are different definitions and it’s up to you to
decide what you think.”
Here, Dr. Phil’s response is very suspicious. When Dr. Phil says, “It’s up to you to decide”, this sort of
statement is completely anti-scientific. He argues that anyone can read the definitions in a science book and
decide for themselves if it’s true? That’s like reading in a history book that the Declaration of Independence
was adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4th, 1776, and then deciding for yourself that this event
never took place, then claiming your accuracy is valid because it’s your opinion. Or, it’s like reading a math
book and seeing that 1+1=2, but deciding for yourself that 1+1 will now equal 5, because it’s your opinion. We
don’t get to determine truth. Dr. Phil would go on to say, “No one here is pro-death and no one here is pro-
abortion. The difference here is pro-choice and pro-life.” You can see the clever way that people try to
redefine terms in order to change or minimize their meaning. When someone refuses to admit when life
begins, that’s a very telling indicator that they don’t want to be confronted with a truth that challenges their
moral or political position. This communicates that they know when life begins, but if they say anything other
than conception, then they know they’re quickly defeated by science. So, ultimately this sort of reply means,
“I don’t care if life begins at conception, I want to support the right to commit abortion.”
I’ve shared a couple of conversations with Christian friends over the years where we’ve peacefully discussed
our opposing views on abortion. A couple of years ago, I was on Facebook talking to one of my former college
students, who is a Christian, and who posted a pro-abortion statement. I replied to his post by saying, “Hello.
I’m assuming that because you are posting this on a public social media platform that this is your way of
inviting open discussion about this topic, so I’d like to politely respond. My question to you is, is an abortion
killing a human being?” He replied, “It’s a fetus.” I responded by asking, “Do you believe a child that is born is
a human being?” He said, “Yes.” I responded by asking, “So, if the child is a human being after it is born, but
it’s not a human being before it’s born, then does the vagina magically confer personhood onto anything that
passes through it? In other words, once something passes through the vagina it becomes a human being. Is
this what you’re claiming?” He replied, “Obviously it’s a human being before it’s born. But I’m still pro-
choice.” I responded, “Thank you for being willing to admit that an abortion is killing a human being. So many
people that are pro-abortion are not willing to concede that truth. I appreciate your honesty.” About five
minutes later, he deleted the post. I couldn’t help but wonder why. Perhaps he was embarrassed that he’d
admitted publicly that an abortion does indeed kill a human being.Another Christian friend of mine, put a pro-abortion post on Facebook which included, “The Jesus I see in the
Bible would absolutely stand by a woman making the most difficult decision in her life and LOVE her
regardless.” Her post implied that she held a pro-abortion stance and justified it because Jesus loves everyone
regardless. I affirmed that Jesus loves everyone, but stated that the premise of her post is incorrect because it
doesn’t address the morality of the abortion. In short, I went on to say that even a casual look into the
Scriptures shows us that Jesus does love everyone, but also is sure to call people out of sin. She replied with
an odd comment stating, “I am pro-life and pro-choice, it’s just what I feel is right.” The concern that I have is
that when Christians are governed by feelings and peer pressure, then they turn away from truth.
“My body my choice!”
Abortion advocates will say, “A woman should choose for herself what to do with her own body”. Another way
to say this is when a woman says, “My body, my choice!” Agreed, what a woman does with her body is her
choice, and she should be free to make decisions regarding her own body. But her body is not what’s being
discussed. This is a common strawman argument. It’s the other human’s body, the unborn son or daughter’s
body, which is not her body.
“Abortion is a very difficult decision”.
Abortion advocates like Barrack Obama, Whoopi Goldberg and other celebrities have said, “Abortion is the
most difficult decision a woman can make.” This is very odd, as the only reason that it could be a very difficult
decision is if the abortion involved the death of an innocent human being. Otherwise, where does the
difficulty derive from? If it’s not a human being, then it’s simply discarding a blob of tissue, like blowing your
nose. Has anyone ever said, “I blew my nose, and a clump of cells was on the Kleenex. I was left with the very
difficult choice to discard the Kleenex.” Of course not, nobody’s ever thought that. If abortion was only
ridding your body of a clump of cells, it would be the easiest no-brainer decision. But, pro-abortionists realize
that they cannot mask the reality of what an abortion really is, which is why they stress that it’s a very difficult
a decision to make. After realizing the dilemma that this statement created, many pro-abortionists started
reaching out to politicians and celebrities and started to demand that they stop saying that an abortion is a
difficult decision. Abortion advocates can only pretend they’re not ending a human life.
Consider the honesty of abortionist and self-proclaimed atheist Peter Singer in his book, Practical Ethics: 3rd
Edition, he says, “Whether a being is a member of a given species is something that can be determined
scientifically, by an examination of the nature of the chromosomes in the cells of living organisms. In this sense
there is no doubt from the first moments of its existence, an embryo conceived from human sperm and human
egg is a human being.”
One might say, “If abortion is banned, then the government is mandating pregnancy.” Wrong, the
government isn’t forcing anyone to get pregnant. The only issue is that some people don’t want to accept the
consequences of heterosexual intercourse and want to selfishly discard an innocent human life for their own
convenience. Many women that have abortions have had multiple abortions, according to the data collected
by Live Action (an anti-abortion institute that educates about abortion on campuses and in the media). This
suggests that people are using abortion as an escape hatch to the natural and expected results of heterosexual
sex.
One might say, “But, Jesus doesn’t mention abortion in the Bible.” True, but He doesn’t mention spousal
abuse, slavery, or child sacrifice. However, Jesus constantly validated the Old Testament by quoting it, whichdid address spousal abuse, child sacrifice, murder, and slavery, along with the value of the unborn. Jesus’
words are in red, but the black letters in the rest of the Bible are given by the Holy Spirit, who is equally divine.
Cases of rape or incest
Biologically speaking, an unborn son or daughter is still 100% human, despite conception through rape/incest.
Abortion in these cases is still a murder of an innocent life. Philosophically speaking, when rape occurs would
anyone suggesting that the woman who was raped be killed because of the man’s behavior? Of course not.
We’d quickly say, “The woman was innocent and shouldn’t be punished, much less killed.
” In the same way,
we should say the child is innocent and shouldn’t be killed because of the man’s decisions. Biblically speaking,
the Lord is angry and grieved at the act of rape or incest. But, in His divine wisdom and grace, He has decided
to bring about a pregnancy, what the Lord calls a blessing and a gift. The Lord looks at the ugliness of the
man’s sin, and the trauma experienced by the woman, and chooses to knit together within her womb a child,
and in doing so brings to her a blessing out of this terrible act. Statistically speaking, the reality is that
pregnancies brought about by rape and incest cases are extremely rare. These extreme cases are often used
as excuses to make allowances for abortion to be normalized. According to public records which allow a
woman to voluntarily report the reason for an abortion, cases of rape or incest are less than half of one
percent of abortion cases.
If an unwanted pregnancy occurs, there are many realities to consider with a situation like this, here are a few.
First, a female who undergoes an abortion can experience a great deal of trauma experienced by the abortion.
Studies on this sort of post-abortion trauma can be deliberately unpublished and unreported. Although a
pregnancy may certainly be difficult to endure, it’s generally a nine-month endurance. Women who have
abortions often experience years, even life-long, emotional trauma and sometimes life-long physical
complications, sometimes resulting in the failure to ever get pregnant again. Second, it’s not uncommon for
an unwanted pregnancy to become the greatest joy in that mother’s life. This too goes unreported. When a
scared mother sees the ultrasound and the nurse asks her if she wants a boy or a girl, and she hears the
heartbeat for the first time, she can often become overwhelmed with joy and excitement and emotional love
for her son/daughter that she never knew she would have. Many moms that chose to keep their child say it
was the best decision they ever made. Third, there’s value in encouraging a traumatized or scared mother to
become a person who overcomes difficult circumstances, instead of taking a seemingly quicker and easier
route of abortion. In situations where two realities are present, the greater right must be given preference. In
the case of any unwanted pregnancy, the innocent child’s right to life should trump the right of the woman to
live as trauma free as she thinks she can. A fourth consideration is adoption. According to
www.americanadoptions.com, there are “there are about 2 million couples currently waiting to adopt in the
United States — which means there are as many as 36 waiting families for every one child who is placed for
adoption.
”
Biblical Perspectives on Pregnancy
The Bible teaches clear lessons about pregnancy and the unborn; here are several. First, no amount of sex can
produce a child until the Lord decides to make a child. In Genesis, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel,
none had children at this point because the Lord hadn’t allowed them to. In 29:31, “Now the LORD saw that
Leah was unloved, and He opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.” Here, Leah is given the gift of a child
to compensate for the trauma she felt by being unloved by her husband. Rachel is kept barren at this time.
Later in Gen 30:22, “Then God remembered Rachel, and God gave heed to her and opened her womb.”
In 1 Samuel, a man named Elkanah had two wives, one named Peninnah, had many children and the other,
named Hannah, was barren. In 1:4-6 it reads, “When the day came that Elkanah sacrificed to the Lord, hewould give portions to Peninnah his wife and to all her sons and her daughters; but to Hannah he would
give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, but the LORD had closed Hannah’s womb.
” Again, God decides
when babies are made, not sex. Reiterating the truth that babies are the work and reward of the Lord, Psalm
127:3 says, “Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.” In Romans 4:19, the
apostle Paul reminds us that God doesn’t even need the man or the woman to be functional for God to create
a baby. Romans 4:19 says, “…Abraham contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was
about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb”. Yet, despite their age, and the deadness of
their bodies to conceive, God created a baby inside Sarah despite their physical limitations.
God created the baby Jesus inside the body of a virgin, showing definitively that babies are the result of God
and not sex alone. Additionally, the Bible confirms personhood on the unborn and that life begins at
conception. Psalm 139:13-16, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s
womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it
very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the
depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
” Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you
in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” Luke 2:21, “And when eight days had
passed, before His circumcision, His name was then called Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was
conceived in the womb.” These verses clearly confirm personhood on the unborn.
The scripture commands against murder; Genesis 9:6, “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his
blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.” Exodus 20:13, “You shall not murder.” Leviticus 24:17,
“Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death.” With regards to killing unborn, Exodus 21:22-25,
“When men fight together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm,
the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman’s husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as
the judges determine. But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life.”
The Bible also talks about obligations to fight for the life of innocent people, a principle that certainly applies
to the unborn. Proverbs 24:11-12, “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who
are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart
perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to
his work?” The principal teaching is, if anyone knows of the innocence of one about to be killed, it becomes
on them to do all they can to save that life. Therefore, we ought to do things like vote against abortion and
support pregnancy resource centers, etc. I believe Scripture gives a warning for doctors that perform
abortions. Deuteronomy 27:25, “Cursed be anyone who takes a bribe to shed innocent blood.” Here, what’s
in view is likely an assassin or a judge, but a bribe is an agreement to be paid to do something that you know is
wrong. I think the principle can be argued to be applied to an abortion doctor that gets paid to kill innocent
people, especially if the doctor knows that the unborn child being killed is in fact a human being.
Abortion in the United States Has Deep Roots in Racism
Margaret Sanger, Democrat and member of the Communist Party, created Planned Parenthood with the
express desire to eliminate the black population. In her autobiography, “Margaret Sanger; An
Autobiography”, published 1938, she highlights what is called the “Negro Project” and details speaking to a Ku
Klux Klan group about her eugenics approach to breeding for “undesirables”, which was her term for the black
population, adding, “the gradual suppression, elimination and eventual extinction, of defective stocks – those
human weeds which threaten the blooming of the finest flower of American civilization.” Interesting enough,some Planned Parenthood clinics, like one in Manhattan, have removed Margaret Sanger’s name from their
clinic, given the increase of awareness by the black community about her position. What Sanger started has
caught fire with the American government, as former Florida Congressman Allen West cited in 2018 that the
federal government gives annually $568.7 million of tax-payers money to Planned Parenthood, which
increased to $618.1 million in 2019.
Myths About Abortion
1. 2. 3. 4. b. “Miscarriage is abortion” – False, the body expelling the unborn on its own is not a choice, whereas
abortion is a choice.
“A fetus or embryo is a parasite” – False, the human body doesn’t work to expel an embryo or fetus
but instead functions in such a way as to feed, house, and protect the unborn fetus until it is ready to
live outside of the mother’s womb.
“An ectopic pregnancy or septate uterus treatment is an abortion” – False, losing a baby is not the
same as murdering your child.
a. Ectopic pregnancy: the embryo implants outside the uterus and thus can’t survive and needs to
be removed.
b. Septate uterus: a normal shaped uterus but with a wall of tissue that creates a separate cavity;
miscarriage and other complications can occur.
“Direct obstetric deaths are solved by abortions” – False, these are causes of death due to pregnancy
complications.
a. Direct obstetric death (DOD) may result from either a pregnancy complication or an abortion
procedure complication. There are many treatments to avoid (DOD), and sometimes doctors
are wrong when they suggest abortion in order to save the mother’s life.
Even when DOD is a credible threat, the family must choose how they’ll proceed. My friend
Jesus Mondragon’s wife was told DOD was a high possibility, but she chose to not kill her baby.
This was a prayerfully considered choice of the family. She died in labor and her daughter lived
and is now happily married and raising her own kids.
“When the mother’s life is in danger, abortion is necessary to save the mother’s life.” False, whenever
the mother’s life is threatened by a complicated pregnancy, doctors without a political agenda will tell
you that performing a caesarean section, also known as C-section or caesarean delivery, can be
performed and save the life of both baby and mother.
APPLICATIONS
God is a loving God who forgives all manner of sin. If you are struggling with a prior choice to have an abortion, please
know that God loves you unconditionally and offers forgiveness as well as help in healing from any trauma that you
might be experiencing as a result of that abortion.
A Christian’s responsibility is to speak the truth in love and pray for those that are considering abortion. Pray for doctors
who commit abortions, that they’d refuse this practice and instead counsel for a C-section or adoption.
Pray for sensitive conversations with those that are weighing the morality of abortion and considering the science.
Finally, before we attempt to point the finger at people for making certain choice, let the sin we tolerate the least be our
own.
